Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of Mexico has caused major disruption to oil production but, thankfully, fuel prices have stayed relatively stable. In fact prices in Spain (€0.97), the Czech Republic (€1.03), Germany (€1.12) and Poland (€0.98) have not changed from last month. This may be a result of Opec's decision to offer all its spare capacity to customers for three months from 1 October. Netherlands (2.78%) where fuel rose to €1.11/lit, followed by France (1.82%) at €1.12/lit. The UK's increase (0.72%) was the fifth highest, taking the price our operators pay at the pumps to €1.39/lit. And the price in the UK remains the highest in Europe despite the recent 'protests'.

With fuel prices at such high levels efficiency has never been so critical. Last month we identified the use of fuel consumption league tables and graphs as a way of awakening your staff's competitive spirit and helping them focus on improving fuel consumption among drivers and traffic off ice staff.

Once these graphs and league tables are in place, your fuel efficiency campaign can be further reinforced by offering incentives to drivers. These could be in the form of bonus pay or some sort of prize.

Next month we will consider fuel management solutions available to help drivers and traffic office staff achieve these increases in fuel efficiency.
