• NFC has received a writ—reportedly claiming 21.3m—from former chief executive Peter Sherlock. He is claiming compensation for loss of office following his hasty departure in August. At that time the press reported that Sherlock, who was employed on a three-year contract, was set to pick up a 2750,000 pay-off from the company. NFC now denies any payment has been made, but that a figure is under negotiation.
n The move comes as NFC negotiates the sale of BRS Car Delivery to shipping firm John I Jacobs.
