TO COMMEMORATE the first motorway express coach service in Britain, exactly 20 years ago to the day, National Travel (West) ran a special service on the same route on November 2.

A CM6 coach built by Midland Red, and similar to that used in 1959 on the first service using the motorway from Birmingham to London, again operated this service. The return journey was made in a modem coach that today regularly operates this "White Arrow" Birmingham-London route.
