In a bid to modernise Smith Coaches, the Reading compa ny's owners, Aureole Invest ments Ltd, have applied fo permission to build replace ment warehouses and extr offices.
The new complex will b erected on the firm's 31/2-acr site in Rosekiln Lane, Reading This is part of a move t streamline and modernise th business completely, said M Philip Newton, a spokesma for Aureole Investments.
He said the presen buildings, owned and used b Smiths Coaches for severa years, were too old for the ex pansion plan.
Mr Newton also added tha the new owners planned t replace completely the presen fleet of 50 buses over the nex three years.
