One of the most effective gimmicks at the Motor Show was used by Tidd Strongbox.
They sent me a golden key to their air-conditioned private lounge so that they could bend my ear to a new product, while a beautiful girl relieved me of my tension and served me with refreshments.
The key opened also a Golden Strongbox, in which were golden prizes including sovereigns. In any event, the visit would have been well worth while just to listen to Hector Tidd's incredible fund of stories.
