Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Helmsley area of Yorkshire, adjacent to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, which has been "cut off" from York since the withdrawal of an Ampleforth mini-bus link with Reliance Motor Services York-Brandsby service, early in 1968 is again to get experimental buses, subject to Traffic Commissioners' approval.

West Yorkshire plans to extend its Malton-Hovingham service to take in the villages of Gilling East, Oswaldkirk and Ampleforth.

Helmsley Rural Council has also been informed by West Yorkshire that connections will be made with United's ThirskHelmsley services, to allow passengers to go either to Mahon or York.

• INSTEAD of attempting to increase fares, Mansfield District Traction Co. has reduced services on several uneconomic routes in Notts. Weekend services will be affected, but the service cuts will not cause redundancy, says Mansfield.
