• The first Leyland Swift to be bodied by Elme, the Portuguese coachbuilder, has been delivered to Allways Travel of Sittingbourne, Kent.
The 27-seat Elme Galaxy body is fitted to a shortwheelbase Swift chassis.
Power is from a 97kW turbocharged Cummins BSeries engine which is mounted vertically behind the front axle and drives through a Turner five-speed manual gearbox. Standard features of the Swift chassis include ZF powerassisted steering and single leaf spring suspension.
The coach was supplied through Avondale International of Lytham St Annes.
