in France with forged permits — or with a conviction in Britain at any time for a permits offence — will be banned from France for life.
The news came during a meeting between the International Hauliers' Federation, the Continental Freight Drivers' Club and DTp officials last week.
The meeting had been arranged to discuss permits, following complaints by the IHF over allocation and quotas of permits.
Now the two organisations are to submit other suggestions to the department on how permits could be distributed.
And both sides of the meeting have accepted that efforts are being made to increase British quotas of in-. ternational permits.
