Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW principle in paint spraying, in which high prossure of the air is replaced by increased volume, is the unique feature of the Air Volume spraying plant, the manufacturing and marketing rights of which for great Britain and the British possessions are in the hands of Kurt Erlaeh, Ltd., 2, Mellor Street, London, S.E.1. The dual principle is protected by British patent No 280,500.

Instead of compressing the air to 40-80 lb. per sq. in., which calls for considerable power, the Air Volume plant concern compresses it to about 6 lb. above atmospheric pressure. For . high-pressure working about If h.p. is required to supply one pistol with 8 cubic ft. of air per minute, whilst on the Air Volume principle the same power will supply about 25 cubic ft., this being easily enough for two pistols. Quite apart from the economy of power and the resultant reduction in size and weight of the plant, there is the great advantage that fumes are reduced, principally because rebound from the object being painted is practically eliminated. The light plant can be brought to the vehicle.

No storage chamber is used, and there is, of course, no trouble of water condensation due to high pressure. The absence of the storage chamber means that the pressure • cannot vary ; it further reduces the size and weight of the plant.

Another advantage of the how Dower required is that useful single-pistol outfits are available which, requiring only h.p., can be connected to any lamp circuit.

The Lilo MK-model, which fuels a full-size standard pistol, is the smallest supplied by Kurt Erlach, Ltd. It 3380

costs L22 10s. completely equipped, and weighs only 24 The larger plants operate on the same principle ; for ample, the OK 10 model, with three or more times me capacity of the Lilo, is normally mounted on a two-wheeled pneumatic-tyred carriage, in which form it weighs 2 cwt. complete and costs i55 7s. 3d. without pistols.

The company is open to consider agency appointments for certain parts of Great Britain.
