Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I am writing with a few personal observations regarding the lorry drivers' dispute with the Government over the increase in fuel tax. lam not a lorry driver but they have my full support. The demonstration in the centre of London was a success and certainly got the Government's attention for a while. The demonstration on the M25 was a success but did

not affect the Government in any way. Do they care if there is a 10-mile jam on the M25? They do not. They are cosy in the centre of town, their chauffeurdriven cars taking them about without any pain.

The way to get and keep the Government's full attention is to make their life difficult. Jam all the roads around Parliament every day: make sure that every morning there is a jam outside Gordon Brown's and John Prescott's London addresses and those of as many other ministers as possible. Ensure that the roads outside the main ministries are at a standstill.

It will not take many trucks at strategic junctions to bring the whole central area to a halt. With fewer trucks required the pressure could be kept up day after day. Then they will realise they have gone too far and that the silent majority will no longer put up with being robbed. Ian Wood, London.
