Logistics diploma

• A European "Diploma in Logistics Management" is now available for senior professional logisticians. The new qualification is the first of its kind, says the Institute of Logistics and Distribution Management. The syllabus covers logistics in business, business strategy and management techniques Applicants will be tested and evaluated in their workplace as part of the assessment. Students can enrol through the ILDM in the UK or the Vereniging Logistiek Management in the Netherlands, and eventually throughout Europe. The European Logistics Association will be the custodian of the standard.

Loader operators win their spurs

• The first certificate marking completion of a new course for loader operators has been issued by Welford Truck Bodies of Walley. West Midlands.

The Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers prepared the course, which comprises oral instruction, practical tuition and a written element. The ALLMI certificate and identify card was awarded to Donald Easton from Wilkie Hooke of Bo'nass, near Edinburgh, who completed the course using a new Pesci SP200 20tim loader supplied by Welford.
