• British Leyland has approved the Primrose 6 x 2 conversion of the BMC Mastiff MS1600 four-wheeler. The conversion permits operation at 20 or 22 tons gross instead of 16 tons, and can be carried out on models of 145in., 182in. and 207in. original wheelbase, giving these a new wheelbase (mean) of 171in., 208in. and 233in. suitable for body lengths of 20ft, 26ft I lin. and 30ft 3.5in. respectively. The shortest model is legally restricted to 20 tons gvw.
