If I am not allowed by law to drive a lorry when I am 21, where do I get the experience before I put in for a heavy goods test? I have a driving licence with which I am allowed to drive anything up to 2 tons.

AIt is not now possible for you to obtain the necessary qualifying experience to obtain an hgv driving licence without taking a test.

The only way to get suitable practice before applying for a test is by undergoing proper training or by gaining employment with an employer who is prepared to let you drive an artic on a provisional hgv driving licence with "L" plates and send an experienced driver with you.
