THIS WEEK'S top used truck is a 2009-registered Volvo FE 26-tonner.
The previous owner of this 59-plated truck upgraded its Euro-5 status with a reduced pollution certificate.
The 26-tonner, with 26ft curtainsided body with new curtains and new 1.5-tonne tuck-away tail lift, is listed by Thomas Hardie Used Trucks.
Under the day cab is a 7.2-litre engine delivering 280hp and 1,050Nm torque, coupled with an eight-speed transmission. It has done 235,000kms and comes with a full Volvo service history.
Demand for 18and 26-tonne used trucks is strong and prices reflect this, and much of what comes through to the used truck sector is from the rental and lease markets.
Manufacturers and finance houses are pushing for operators to realise hidden capital on the books and put more rigid trucks back into circulation.
