The good news is that this need has now been met with the Introduction of the G-Series. Effectively a cut-down R-Series cab rather than an enlarged P-Series, the G comes in five varieties, from short day cab to a Highline sleeper— but there is no Topline option, There's plenty of space for bits and pieces, especially at the higher level, so drivers on UK domestic nights out shouldn't struggle for room.
