Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Dennis Dart buses have been involved in several accidents at London Transport subsidiary bus depots at Sutton, Merton and Catford.

London General engineering director Phil Margrave says that he cannot discuss the causes of the accidents at Sutton and Merton garages because they are still under investigation.

In the Sutton accident last month a bus is claimed to have surged backwards and then forwards, ramming vehicles behind and then one in front. But Margrave says he does not believe the vehicle underwent a power surge.

Steve Burton, Darts managing director Dennis Specialist Vehicles, says: "We have sold 500 Darts into London and the reason we sell so many is that they perform very well. London Buses ordered a further 75 recently. We have monthly review meetings with London fleets where we normally get complements and more orders."
