• Truckrent is on the verge ot selling its contract hire business which went on the market in October (CM 11-17 October 1990).
Truckrent says it wants to concentrate on its core business of selling and servicing vehicles.
Peter Durrant, former commercial vehicle division managing director, left his job suddenly last month and is "taking a break", says Truckrent's Grimsby office. He said in October that parent company Hartwell would wind the Truckrent business down if a buyer could not be found.
The Hartwell Group would not comment on Durrant's departure.
