London Transport's new multi ride ticket system comes intc operation this month. LT claim that it will mean a reduction ir fares. And that must be the best news yet.
They are not so certain aboul other effects of the system bui hope that it will speed up the o-m-o buses by cutting dowr boarding time and they want tc study customer reaction. I can'i
think that too many people wil complain that their 30p casl
fare is now to cost only 15p oi that a 19p fare is to be cut tc 10p.
What I don't yet know is hoin this new system can effect a 5C per cent cut. Colleague Noe Millier will be finding out if works and I hope it does — it wil be the first genuine reductior I've come across in 25 years.
