HRISTIAN SALVESEN, one f Britain's largest refrigerled transport operators, is to lose its Aberdeen depot. The ecision was taken in Edinurgh on Wednesday.

Mr Daniel Stewart, the cornany's managing director, told WI the reason for the closure as economic. "We are unable D get an economic rate for ,berdeen traffic and we canot make provision for eplacing vehicles in the preent inflation situation," he aid.

Mr Stewart said that in ransport terms the closure rould mean the loss of 40 per ent of the refrigerated traffic the North of Scotland.
