Industry.

More than 200 men have attended and instructional models have been used to illustrate van-loading techniques. Because of the increasing amount of heavy kitchen equipment, such as washing machines and refrigerators, in the average home. this is a particularly important feature

of modern removal work. Full-sized equipment, such as window tackle, also been demonstrated.

Whilst primarily aimed at newcomers to the trade, the course has also provided more experienced employees with the opportunity to gain knowledge of modern trends and to familiarize themselves with the latest types of equipment.

Packing methods virtually new to the inland removal trade have been demonstrated. These include wardrobe packs for clothing, mattress cartons and the Kleenpak system. Though commonly employed in America, the use of these packing aids is at present confined to removals carried out on behalf of U.S. Forces personnel stationed in this country.
