have ..ranted to the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Co., Ltd., shortperiod licences for services operated by Mr. T. A. V. Scadding, of Wottonunder-Edge, from Wotton to Cromhall, Slimbridge and T2ley. A short-period licence has also been granted to the 'Western National Omnibus Co., Ltd., for Mr. Scadding's service from Dursley to Uley, arrangements having been made between the Bristol and Western National concerns whereby the latter ehould work that portion of the route.

HULL'S EXPECTED LOSSES.

DEFICITS are anticipated, during the current financial year ending March 31 next, on Hull Corporation's tram and bus systems. It is expected that a loss of £2,784 will be shown on the trams and a deficit of £3,881 on the motorbuses. The net income 'will probably be 1260,262 on the trams, with expenditure standing at £262.546. The income from the buses is expected to be 1126,940, whilst the expenditure will probably amount to 1130,821.

MOVE TO LINK SERVICES. REPRESENTATIONS are being made to the West Miclland Traffic Commissioners by Stoke-on-Trent Corporation with regard to the possible linking up of two bus routes, with a view to reducing congestion and obstruction by buses in the city.

MR. PARTRIDGE ON TEN YEARS OF LONDON BUS OPERATION. TEN years in the London bus trade is the subject of a paper to be read to-night (Friday) by Mr. A. G. Tucker, appealed to the Minister of Transport against the revocation of a licence by the Eastern Traffic Commissioners, following his failure to take it up.

Mr. Tucker has been informed that the right of appeal under Section 81 of the Road Traffic Act against the revocation of a licence is confined to the holder, and that, as the licence has not been taken out, he is not a licence holder and the Minister has no jurisdiction in the appeal.
