• The first three Leyland Swift minibuses to go into service in Britain started running this week with Yorkshire operator Harrogate Independent Travel. The original midengined, 4.4 metre chassis was launched in April.
The buses have six-cylinder, 5.9 litre Cummins B-Series engines, with ZF power-assisted steering and taper leaf suspension. The 37-seat bodywork is provided by Wadham Stringer of Portsmouth.
