• Co-operation between Volkswagen and one of Germany largest electrical concerns, RWE. is aimed at the development of a battery-driven truck for urban delivery work. In the one-ton payload class, the project is said to be based on the VW pick-up with lead-acid batteries of conventional type capable of providing a range of about 60 miles between charges and a top speed of 45 mph.
