LORD DERWENT, chairman of the I-0 British Road Federation, has sent the Prime Minister a copy of the Federation's latest publication, "Modern Roads for Britain—How to get Them.", The book proposes that road loans should be floated so that work on modernizing the country's highway system could be put in hand on imaginative lines without delay.
It outlines procedure for administrating such loans and shows that men, materials and machinery are available for a road programme. Copies have also been sent to various interested parties throughout the country.
