Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two PTE members of the Association of Public Passenger Transport Operators are. considering their future relations with the body in the light of the formation of the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport. This is revealed in the minutes of the last APPTO council meeting which were published this week.

At the meeting, Mr G. G. Harding, SELNEC PTE's director of operations and its representative on the APPTO council, said that the PTE had reached no decision on continued membership of the Association, At the same time, the Greater Glasgow PTE's director of operations and APPTO representative Mr W. Murray, said his PTE's attitude would be influenced by the direction in which APPTO finally decided to go.

APPTO had indicated that it intends to remain in existence in its own right. It is currently amending its articles of association to allow the new local authorities which come into being next April 1 to be members. Its area staff are now making approaches to all the new authorities.
