AN increased surplus of £32,750 is reported by Southport Corporation Transport Department for the year 1961-62—an increase of more than £4,000 on the previous year's surplus
The estimated number of passengers carried dropped by 4.06 per cent., but traffic revenue of £286,151 showed an increase of £8,289 due mainly to extra receipts from revised fares. The total mileage at 1,985,538 was a reduction of 2.67 per cent. on the previous year.
At the end of 1961 the Southport Corporation fleet consisted of 63 doubledeck and six single-deck buses.
