• Police have arrested a truck driver on suspicion of death by dangerous driving after his truck crashed into a car, killing the driver instantly.
The incident happened at around 4pm last Monday (24 March) on the southbound carriage of the M25 between the A127 turn-off and J30 at Lakeside.
The artic hit the back of a Volvo estate killing the driver, off-duty policeman Chris Jones. A second truck then hit the central reservation as it tried to avoid the wreckage. A spokesperson for Essex police says: "Anyone with information should contact us immediately."
