Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Blue Bird Motor Co., Ltd., recently opened what is said to be the eareest petrol and oil service station in England on a portion of their extensive site near the Town Hall in the main King's Road, Chelsea, London, S.W.3. This station has a petrol storage capacity of 9,000 gallons. The chief point is that all the wellknown grades of spirit will be stocked. For this purpose there are 10 Bowser kerbside petrol pumps, making it possible for 10 vehicles to receive different grades of petrol simultaneously. The storage of lubricating oil has been carefully considered, and the most modern methods adopted. In this instance the

824 oil is stored underground in tanks in precisely the same manner as the petrol, and distribution is carried out by means of the Bowser one-gallon pump. There are also two oil cabinets of the same make, which hold 55 gallons and deliver by means of a quart pump. These pumps were the first to be approved by the Standards Committee of the Board of Trade.

At the opening a procession ef vehicles of all types and sires were filled one by one. They included Blue Bird Daimlers, a Fordson trader and Warren trailer, two Straker-Squire buses, including a London bus built for Timpson's, a Scammell tractor-lorry, a Citroen Kegresse tractor, a Dennis 450-gallon fire-pump, and an A.E.C. 28-seater coach. The first vehicle was filled by Admiral Sir Edmond J. W. Slade. K.C.I.E., K.C.V.O. (vice-chairman of the Anglo-Persian Oil Co., Ltd.). Mr. R. Brandon Tire, the chairman and managing director of the Blue Bird Daimler Service, is the conceiver of the scheme for the filling station. This will eventually form a part of a very large garage and repairing service station, occupying the remainder of the site, which is nearly an acre in extent. The company will deal with both cars and commercial vehicles. and the station will be open throughout the 24 hours.
