TWO E.R.F. 15-ton tractors, the first of their type to be adopted by the North Eastern Region of British Railways, are now being used for the collection and delivery of heavy loads in the Leeds and Newcastle upon Tyne areas.

The vehicles, which have Gardner 5LW engines and bodywork constructed at the B.R. shops in Stratford, are employed in conjunction with existing drawbar trailers.

AFTER studying traffic conditions in Hull, the Ministry of Transport divisional road engineer has decided that first priority should be given to removing the Dairycoates level crossing in Hessle Road, He said level crossings were the curse of Hull's road transport system.
