HAZCHEM SYMPOSIUM • There are still some tickets left for Cleveland Police's Hazchem Symposium being held next week on June 2, 3 and 4 in Middlesbrough.

Among the speakers at the

conference — which will be looking at the safe transport and storage of hazardous chemicals — are Fred Smith, Cleveland's Chief Constable (operations) who will cover the enforcement of conveyancing regulations, and Chief Fire Officer Bill Cooney looking at the problems faced by the Fire Brigade.

There will also be representatives from industry, the emergency services, unions and the Health and Safety Executive. Speakers from abroad include Vincent Boyer from Monsanto Worldwide and Dr Schmidt-Pott, products manager of AVS Products in West Germany, who will discuss early warning systems for toxic releases.

Fee for the three-day symposium, excluding accommodation, is 2130 plus VAT. Details are available from Sergeant Chaplin on 0642 248184.
