• C and G Concrete of Stamford has ordered the first 30 Leyland Constructor sixwheelers to be fitted with Tadchurch rubber spring bogies, as an on-line option.
The general arrangement of the chassis allows the Leyland springs to be replaced by the Tadchurch steel oscillating beams suspended on rubber sandwich springs.
Torque reaction is absorbed by two lower radius rods and two upper arms, which with splayed pivots also provide sideways location for the axles.
