Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ADDITIONS to the range of hydraulic cranes from AC, the Danish manufacturer, are now available in Britain through the sole importers, AIM of Keighley, Yorkshire.

Double-acting hydraulics, ensuring rapid yet safe lowering of the jib and hydraulic slewing to allow fast accurate positioning of the load, are features of the new models. When the cranes are lorry mounted, hydraulic support legs are available to ensure that the vehicle remains level during loading.

Cranes can be modified by AIM to suit individual customer requirements. They are available with capacities of 1100, 1600 and 2500kg (2425, 3527, and 5511 lb) and are electrohydraulically operated) although hand hydraulic models are available. Electrohydraulic models can be run off mains electricity of 12or 24-volt batteries.

The jib of the AC cranes extends hydraulically to 2.61m (8.5ft) and a bolt-on extension is available to take a total jib length to 3.6m (11.8ft).

A two-speed worm and crown wheel gearbox facilitates 360° slewing and all functions are controlled by a single lever, with a remote control device being available.

The cranes can be fixed to the factory floor by insertion in a socket, used on a mobile workshop trolley or fixed to most commercial vehicles. Where used on vehicles, AIM fabricates subframes which are fitted to the lorry chassis.

Associated Industrial and Mechanical Engineers Limited is based at Goodley Works, Caine Road, Oakworth, Keighley, BD22 7PD.
