Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

OFlarger capacity, and better appearance than its predecessor, a new 15-cwt. model has been introduced by Dodge Brothers (Britain), Ltd., Mortlake Road, Kew Gardens, Surrey. It replaces the model RCX and will be available with alternative engines23.4 h.p. and 19.8 h.p.---the designations being respectively TC and TCX.

Offered as a delivery van, an estate wagon or a chassis, the new machine costs £225 in the first-named form and £180 in the third. It has a 116-in. wheelbase, an improved radiator of pleasing appearance and increased cooling capacity; a new frame, and longer springs, whilst large hydraulic double-acting shock absorbers are standardized at front and rear.

Features of the new frame include the use of six cross-members, and the combined effect of the various ins

provements enumerated is to increase the loading capacity of the vehicle in respect of bulk and to enhance its smooth travel. Different axle ratios are employed for the two Power units.

Both of these have six cylinders (2k ins, and 3i ins, bore by 4 ins. stroke) and side valves, the smaller being of 2.79 litres capacity and the larger of 3.3 litres. The clutch is of 10 ins, diameter, and transmits through a three-speed gearbox with constantmesh second-speed wheels. Thence power is conveyed by a propeller shaft having roller-bearing universals to a semi-floating rear axle, whIch is of the hypoid type.

Hydraulic brakes are employed, the drums on all wheels being 10 ins, in diameter and 2 ins. wide. The frame has a maximum section of 6 ins. by 2 ins, by in., and is kicked up over the rear axle. The lengths of the front and rear springs, respectively, are 39 ins. and 52 ins. All wheels are shod with 6.5-16 tyres.

As can be seen from the accompanying picture, the van has definitely attractive lines, and in view of its other good features and the comprehensive equipment that is included, it should hold a strong appeal to many classes of operator.
