Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Trucker drivers claim they are not getting enough training from their employers, says a new survey.

More than half (52%) of the 50 drivers responding to a survey by PHH Truck Management Services said they felt a need for, and "positively welcomed", extra training.

The survey, which included drivers of all types of truck, also found that truckers were bothered by poor working conditions and increased work loads under reduced actual driving hours.

PHE's Peter Judson says that most of the drivers expressing these feelings were from small truck fleets. "The time has come for employers to look closely at their responsibilities towards employees," he adds.

"Investment in driver training saves lives and improves efficiency," says Judson.

Another major concern was that truck drivers were finding service stations more expensive to visit, and could not afford to eat at them.
