RENAULT UK is to import Jeep four-wheel-drive vehicles from the end of this year.
TKM of Andover is the current importer and distributor, but Renault, which owns 47 per cent of American Motors, will most probably change this marketing philosophy following the appointment of a new managing director to its British car interest in September and come into line with continental practice. Renault UK has more than 400 car dealerships in Britain.
A lighter version of the Cherokee model currently powered by V8 and six-cylinder petrol engines is to be introduced next year equipped with a Renault , diesel engine.
