MR. W. DONALOsON WRIGHT, M.Inst.T., has been re-elected chairman • of the Road Panel of the East Midland Regional Committee' of the Road and Rail Central Conference. The term of office is for two years.
SIR ALEXANDER AIRMAN, C.I.E., has been appointed a director of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd. He was a member of the Legislative' Assembly of the Indian Central Legislature from 1936-1939 And leader of the European Group in India during the years 19381940. He has also been a director of the Dunlop Rubber Co. (India), Ltd.
MR. G. W. WROTH has been appointed acting manager of the Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd. Upon the retirement of Mr. J. Lindsay Wood, general manager of the concern on September 1, Mr. Wroth will be his successor. Chief engineer to the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., from 1924 to 1936, Mr. Wroth then became general manager of the transport department of Stockport CorDoration, which he left in 1938 to take up a position as _ transport 'manager of Trinidad Leaseholds, London.
MR. R. Iliterazv, chief executive officer of Hauliers, Ltd., Manchester, has been appointed an associate member of the Institute of Transport, as have MR. W. H. SPRAT, wharves and transport manager of Convoys, Ltd., London; MR. H. M. TricompsoN, distribution manager, Associated Biscuit Manufacturers, Ltd., London; and MR. C. J. WILLIAMS, transport manager, W. IL Smith and Son, Ltd., London.
• MR. IL C. PARKES, J.P., has been appointed, chairman of Small and • Parkes, Ltd., Hendham Vale Works, Manchester, in succession to the late Mr. George William Parkes. The business of which Mr. H. C. Parkes was the head was amalgamated with Small and Parkes, Ltd., in 1899, since when Mr. Parkes has been actively and continuously associated with the company, of which he has long been a director. MR. GEORGE WILFRED PARKES (managing director), son of the late chairman, has been appointed deputy chairman of the. company.
