WITH reference to the article by Mike Rutherford on the Hyundas's pick-up (CM, November 26), it is so utterly biased it is not worth printing in any journal.
There is some doubt which has the most faults, the vehicle or the author. For example, the fuss Mr Rutherford makes about not having a choke warning light, unforgivably he says. Seized heater controls and a small glove box are hardly major problems.
Mr Rutherford asks the question, what do you do when you collect an awkward load and have to remove the hard top? My answer is that any driver who uses a vehicle that is too small for the job wants his head examined. What a good job the test vehicle wasn't a conventional van or else Mr Rutherford might have suggested carrying a hack-saw blade in the tool kit and sawing the roof off.
Since there is no mention whatsover about clutch, gearbox, mpg or servicing intervals, I assume this article is supposed to be non-technical. G. M. HUMPREY, Workshop Manager, Bristol
