Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

on Breaches of Rules _ SUCCESSFUL competitors in the Slough eliminating round of the Lorry Driver of the Year Competition are not to be disqualified from the final because the organizers contravened the national regulations on marking.

This decision was reached by the National Organizing Committee at Coventry, on Monday. The committee passed a resolution viewing with concern the lax attitude adopted towards the national regulations in the past and re-affirming their intention of adhering to them in the future. A sub-committee was appointed to tighten up the regulations for future events. They will have power to act.

Much ill-feeling was caused by allegations by the Slough -Road Safety Committee that the Coventry organization had filched London entrants. Mr. M. J. Miles, secretary of the national committee, said that only six vehicles came from London—three from British Road Services (Edgware) and three from Pease Transport, Ltd. The B.R.S. vehicles were working to Coventry. Apart from nine vehicles from Nottingham, four from Burton-on-Trent and three from Stoke, which were not within the sphere of Slough, all othd Coventry entrants came from within a 25-mite radius.

The national committee decided that in future no competitor may take part 430 in more than one eliminating round in the year, and drivers must sign a declaration to this effect.

The Traders' Road Transport Association and the Road Haulage Association are to be asked to take the intitiative in setting up new eliminating centres, in conjunction with the local road safety committees.

Territorial Army drivers are in future to be classified as Service drivers.

An award by the Company of Veteran Motorists will go to the oldest driver competing in the final, regardless of class, who qualifies for The Commercial Motor diploma la merit. A cash award will be made to the Lorry Driver of the Year.
