Overlander is a Dublin-based manufacturer with links to the Hireco rental operation. It produces curtainsiders, flats, skeletals, sliding skeletals, open-top curtainsiders and extendible flats.The Irish directors bought the rights to Overlander's designs from the UK a few years ago and have pushed sales up to 25 units a month across Ireland and the UK.
Hireco is one of its main customers but the firm also supplies about 30 curtainsiders a year direct to Tesco."The main interest is in the curtainsiders. especially our new open-top unit, the RecyclineCsays conunercial manager, Emmet Noonan.
Meanwhile, Hireco, under the auspices of managing director, Helen Flynn, continues to operate 680 rental trailers from depots in Belfast and Dublin and reports strong trading with the vast majority of its units at any time out with customers.
