• Fifteen papers will be presented at the symposium on Rapid Transit Vehicles for City Services which the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is holding in Paris from November 24 to 26. On the last day there will be visits to RATP (The Paris transport authority) and transport facilities at several points in the city.
Among the subjects of papers are double-deck, single-deck and articulated buses (speakers here include Mr G. C. Harding of SELNEC and Dr A. Fogg of British Leyland), automatic computer control of urban vehicles, automatic fare collection, and future developments in personal transport.
