• A two-day conference on "Costings in freight transport—current developments for management" in Manchester is to explore money-saving opportunities in freight transport. It will deal both with professional and own-account operation, and with all modes of transport, examining castings from various aspects—size of company, output, product to be conveyed, whether for home or export delivery, containerization opportunities. Organized by the Manchester branch of the British Institute of Management, the conference will take place at the Midland Hotel, Manchester, on November 18 and 19.
