• Dutch operator Harry Yes has a fleet of more than 3.000 vehicles and, according to Realcare Automotive and Industrial Solutions of Corby, all its tyres are inflated with nitrogen.
According to the company, nitrogen helps resist tyre fatigue and so lengthens service life.
Realcare supplies the tyre inflation equipment and software that will calculate the size of compressor needed depending on the class of vehicle in your fleet.
One means of topping up your tyres is the wheeled Nitrogen Buggy which uses an automatic control unit into which you key the required pressure. Couple it to the tyre valve and it does the rest.
Re-charged cylinders of nitrogen are readily available from BOC or Air Products.
