Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Baco range of aluminium sections has been rationalized and now includes several new sections as well as a series designed for constructing bodies for vehicles in the 30cwt unladen weight category.

The aluminium sections available for bodybuilding are detailed in Aluminium Stocked Materials for Road Transport, which is issued by the British Aluminium Company. A wall chart shows full-size cross

sections of the extrusions on offer.

One of the new sections is a side rave extrusion for box van bodies which is designed so that the side uprights can be positioned independently of the cross-bearers: two new cantrail sections are included in the range. The first of these has an integral gutter which does not project over the side of the body and which gives an increased interior width for the same overall width. The second section incorporates an external flange allowing the roof sheet to be secured outside the internal roof area, so minimizing the risk of roof leaks. Two aluminium corner castings are available for use with the new cant rails.

Also on offer are modified Z sections for use as side rails when a vehicle has both internal lining sheet and external cladding. When used in conjunction with the corresponding pillar sections, the faces of the new extrusions are flush with the exterior and interior faces of the side pillars and can be secured without utilizing angle brackets.

Aluminium sheet and plate in stock sizes and alloys are also covered by the stocked materials system. Six types of patterned sheet and the three forms of positive-grip-pattern treadplate are held in stock. For panelling and the construction of stressed skin van and pantechnicon bodies, Baco Pan-AL-Rib profiled sheet is available.

The new publication includes an introduction on aluminium, beam formulae, typical mechanical properties and metric conversion table. Copies of the book and the wall chart may be obtained free from the company's London address, from regional sales offices or from the 12 Baco stockholders.
