• Fatal and serious casualties among drivers and passengers on goods vehicles rose by 14 per cent during the first two months of the year, according to figures issued by the MoT last week. In January increases in casualties were recorded for all classes of road users but provisional figures for February show a decrease of 2 per cent as compared with February 1968. Motor traffic is estimated to have risen by 7 per cent.
