Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Dam indebted to a reader who wishes to remain anonymous (I wonder why) for the following "job advertisement".

FREIGHT FORWARDER SEEKS SUBCONTRACTORS Applicants must be of a very high standard and must meet our stringent requirements listed below: 1. Their equipment must be reliable and well maintained whatever the cost. They must be punctual, reliable, experienced and Fully insured.

2. When loading they must show humility and forebearance at all times,

however provoked. 3. If they arrive at a scheduled time and wait six hours to load they must never remark on the ineptitude of the warehouse manager.

4. In these circumstances they must not call us to sort the situation out. Having negotiated a lucrative (to us) contract we are not about to hove it prejudiced by standing up for some whingeing lorry driver.

5. However long the delay we still expect the delivery to be made on time. The driver must put his foot down and ignore the tachograph. We are not worried about him breaking the law because we don't have to pay the fine or worry about losing an Operator's Licence. 6. When the driver is loading or unloading at our depot he must always remember he is there on sufferance. The fact that all our jobs depend on the trucks coming in and out is not important.

Those who meet our strict criteria may be taken on. You will be paid a rate a fraction above your running costs REPLY WITHOUT CONFIDENCE TO PAYLATER & LARFING.

Sounds like the voice of bitter experience to me. That's it. I'm off to the garden while the sun's still out. See you next week.
