• Vehicle weighing products manufacturer Central Weighing has been acquired by the Australian electronics group BWD Industries.
Managing director Richard Stokes says the Australian ownership will help it to double turnover, to 22 million within a year, and increase its present staff of 15.
The company makes platform bridges, axle weighers and portable scales. It supplies the Department of Transport's roadside weighing stations.
