wireless telemetry platform that should make sending, receiving and managing data simpler.
Aimed at telematics system suppliers, M2M Connect is designed to provide simple interfaces which make telemetry solutions quick and easy to develop. The service consists of a centrally-hosted gateway that can communicate with thousands of wireless devices using °PBS and SMS.
The platform will be charged out to systems providers on the basis of fixed data 'bundles' that can be used for any telemetry devices—where current 'SIM-centric' pricing forces customers to purchase a separate data bundle per device. Combined with simpler system development, this should make end-user telematics packages cheaper for system integrators and their customers, according to Cynthia Gordon, Orange Business
