RIDER ON TRIAL

Boughey Distribution of Wardle, Cheshire, has put a pair of Foden Alphas into its 50-strong grocery distribution fleet. The Alphas are 6x2 mid-lifts with Cummins 420hp ISMe engines and XL cabs. It expects the Fodens to cover 170,000km a year for the next six years.

FEATHER DIESEL

The diesel fuel-injection specialist Feather Diesel Services is to open a 560m3 regional diesel diagnostic facility in Daventry, close to the M1 and M40. The facility will open In early February and will incorporate a 'rolling road' dynamometer, which will enable technicians to evaluate the performance of the vehicle's engine. The centre is Feather Diesel's second such facility, the first having opened in 2001 at its Halifax site.

CLASSIC TRAILER

Andover Trailers has supplied this tri-axle step-frame trailer to Paul Hammond, former MD of Yeoman Transport, to shift his pair of classic Scammells. The towing tractor is no spring chicken, either, being a 1976 Volvo F88 150-tonner. The neat looking accommodation pod is actually an ex-BT 3.5-tonne van body.
