Converting to Coal-gas.

[4331] (Brewers).—Ybui will be quite in order to use your compressor and 0.0.2 cylinders for gas. You must bear in mind, however, that it will be necessary for you to fit a reducing valve between the gas container and the carburetter. A suitable valve was described in our issue of the 29th March last. You may be able to get one that will suit your purpose fro ii W. H. Bailey and Co., of Manchester ; alternatively, you may be able to get one made by a local firm of engineers from our drawing as published. You should take care that the design provides for a receiver having a capacity of at least half a cubic foot.

Wants to Export Lorries -to Chilian Nitrate Fields.

[1332] (Lincoln).--You should apply to the War Trades Department, Central Buildings, Westminster, for permission to export your three motor lorries. They will supply you with the necessary forms Of application to export. As regards the actual dispbsal of the vehicles, you may find an advertisement in the International Review of Commerce, although we are afraid that that is not very likely. Alternatively, you should write to the Board of Trade, asking them if they can help you. It will assist you very considerably in your application to exportif you can state that you have a firm order for the goods. After that, your ultimate success or failure will depend on the strength of the demand in this country for the particular type -of vehicle which you wish to export.
