Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

"I have been asked to tender for refuse collection In this town on four mornings per week. I use a 3-tonner, the tip is half a mile away and the mileage is negligible. I am to quote in two ways : one with two boys to help load and unload and the other with only a driver. I pay the two boys a total of £2 and the driver 30s. per week."

First of all we must tell you that we consider the wage you pay your driver totally inadequate. The rates we are going to suggest to you are calculated on the basis of an appropriate wage of not less than £3 per week. In that case, your minimum rate should be 5s. 6d. per hour, with driver only, and Os. 9d. per hour when employing the two boys.
